Intriguing Velvet Fashion Idea for 2024

In one of my Travel Taiwan projects a few years ago, I had a velvet theme ootd for the whole trip. This 2024, I decided to prance the streets of Cebu with my Velvet Fashion.

What is Velvet?

Velvet is a closely woven fabric of silk, cotton, or nylon, that has a thick short pile on one side.

What does the velvet symbolize?

With its plush, inviting, and often-varied texture, velvet offers a sensory experience and brings to mind notions of wealth, splendor, and indulgence. For hundreds of years, this opulent textile operated as a status symbol, and today it remains a fabric with luxurious connotations.

As for me, I enjoy wearing velvet to express myself and not to impress. My fashion rule has always been the same, to be me and to be authentic. I do not follow the trends nor buy what everyone is wearing. I only go for the kind of outfit I most believe would present my well being as to how I perceive it.

My favorite velvet pair for the cold season. This buttoned down long sleeve shirt and this long pants have traveled with me several times.

This year, I chose this set as my airport OOTD because it’s chilly February. This pair gave me the right amount of warmth.

One thing nice about velvet is that it shines even at night.

This comfy pair camouflaged with the beauty of nature at Bulakan ni Alejandra in Balamban Cebu. The color is definitely soothing even under the pricking heat of the sun.

An elegant emerald green velvet dress for a whole day shopping at Ayala Center Cebu. The comfy fit makes the walk in gigantic mall easy.

This velvet skirt looked stunning paired with this floral fish net top. It perfectly matched the tropical weather in the metropolitan of Cebu.

This ootd is perfect for my Cebu City day tour.

My newest favorite pair! This white velvet set is a new addition to my collection but it’s too bad I didn’t hav a decent pose to show. This photo shows my eagerness to learn how to scrape a coconut meat out from its shell.

In bisaya, we call this action as “Kudkud”. Good thing I still has this solo photo wearing this during my travel in Cebu or I would not be able to include it on my Velvet Fashion post.

Before leaving the resort in Tajao, I was making a statement with this beautiful pink velvet pair. I love the comfort and mobility this ootd gives me. Best buy ever!

A velvet jumper dress paired with a fishnet top. This set of ootd is one of my to go choices. Like, If I don’t know what to wear, I go for this look.

This green velvet set is my 2024 necessity. I have worn this in many occasions since January first. Never thought it would be a gorgeous airport OOTD too!
