As a Media Personality, dressing up is part of the necessity. I don’t know if it’s only me or perhaps some of you feel the same way too in terms of packing clothes for travel. My personal style is to imagine the place and the activities I need to do during the trip so that I could pick a fashion theme for the entire staycation.

When my work-cation in Makati Metro Manila Philippines was confirmed, I was quite indecisive of the type of clothes to wear as host of the Taiwan Tourism event for three days. I had the same event last year and I was wearing white for five days and sequenced OOTDs for my hosting. This year, I wanted something unique.

I am sharing this to you because I know like me, many women out there are having a hard time choosing their outfit and it’s nothing but normal to women most especially if your work is like mine, always exposed to shutters and video cameras.

Since the last few days of December last year, I was quite inclined to something green. At first I didn’t even know it’s a lucky color for 2024. I was just having this peculiar drive of wearing the hue of the trees and nature for the purpose of comfort and relaxation. I don’t know what you guys think but green really feels good to my eyes.

From the moment I picked the color for the trip, I checked blazers from an online shop and decided to buy printed ones to have a little twist. As a host, it is ok to wear something unique for as long as it isn’t too much for the occasion and most importantly it won’t distract the guests for the main purpose of the event.

I have seen so many aspiring hosts trying to be the center of the ceremony. They wanted to be the star or worse the highlight of the program when in fact, the host should be the one guiding the audience on the climax of the event. The host in the same manner should be the one introducing the most important people or activities in the program.

The host can be entertaining and palatable to the eyes because it helps in extending the attention span of the viewers but it’s never about the host as who he or she is. In short, the host is never the focal point of a program because he or she is in fact part of it. So if you want to be a star, then don’t be a host.

It is also one important characteristic of a good host is not to be overdressed and never overshadow the main people of the program. It’s rude and very unprofessional.

Well so much for the do’s and don’ts of a professional host, here are the OOTD’s I picked for this year’s Taiwan Tourism sponsorship for the World Travel Expo – World Travel Fair held in Glorietta Activity Center Makati Metro Manila last March 15 to 17.

Day 1 Taoyuan International Airport to Makati Metro Manila

To be honest, now at my 40’s, I prefer wearing soft garments like this one in the picture. I kind of enjoy wearing a hoodie and soft straight cut leg pants. Also, as a petite woman, I choose monochromatic combination to add length to my overall look.

This light grey hoodie set is a Taiwanese fashion trend and you can actually see locals wearing hoodies in Taiwan regardless of age.

Day 2 World Travel Fair Part 1 Glorietta Activity Center

For the 3-day World Travel Fair, I picked wide cut leg pants for the bottom, Oversized cartoon character T-shirts for the casual top and then another semi formal top for my hosting that matches my blazer each day.

For the first day of World Travel Fair, I was wearing a pink Hello Kitty Oversized T-shirt.

The Final Look for the first day of World Travel Fair as the host. What can you say though?

I had no other inspiration except for a monochromatic green OOTD. I was wearing a velvet wide cut leg pants, a black tank top, an olive green mesh longsleeve top and a plaid print lapel neck blazer. My footwear is also a Taiwan fashion footwear and the color is light pink.

Day 3 World Travel Fair Part 2 Glorietta Activity Center

It’s the second day of the fair and I wore Luffy Oversized white T-shirt to match my white wide cut leg pants.

Wearing a white ribbed tank top and white wide cut leg pants. My blazer is a marble print lapel style. I intended to wear this set for the second day because I wanted to look neat and not so flashy for my interview on stage with a Filipino Actress Ms. Bea Binene. These white shoes are also a Taiwan fashion footwear.

To be very honest, I and Ms. Bea Binene looked so much coordinated on stage as we both wear something similar in print and color.

Day 4 World Travel Fair Part 3 Glorietta Activity Center

On the final day of the fair, I prepared a darker shade of top and bottom to match my blazer. For the casual look I had an Oversized Tweety black shirt and a velvet wide cut leg pants.

As for the third day of hosting the Taiwan Tourism Booth, I was wearing a Paisley print lapel neck blazer, a black tank top, a black longsleeve mesh top and a dark grey velvet wide cut leg pants.
