While I was on my computer, trying to draft the content I wanted to elaborate for this season, my subconscious queued the song “Save me from myself” by Christina Aguilera. I would say I’m quite familiar to the melody and the lyrics of the said song because I used to sing this over and over again, several years ago, when I was alone in the house or perhaps when I feel a little blue.
If you just give this song a chance, it will drift your soul into a loving universe. One that’s sweet and compassionate. The angelic voice of Christina Aguilera made the music soothing and blissful.
This was the kind of vibe I wished to portray in this Striving Spring concept. From a woman that was wasted in winter, to an awakened, wiser and striving one in spring.
Awakened in the sense that Love isn’t everything in any kind of relationship. It needs respect, patience and forgiveness to be able to understand the hardships and move forward to a better version of you.
Wiser in every step so that history will not be repeated. In this case, one has learned the lesson from a hard experience. Every person should think before the decision is given. Touche.
Striving means being hopeful despite the unbearable moments. Like the sweet tune of the song Save me from myself, it may sound desperate asking someone to save you from yourself, but we are not our own world, we need others to build a family, a community and a country.
Hurt from losing someone you love might destroy you that’s why you were wasted in winter, but if there is someone that could save you from the agony, accept it, save yourself and never lose hope even if you’re left with the littlest spark in your eyes. Hold on to that spark and hopefully, you will get on your knees and be whole again.
Love is a springtime plant that perfumes everything with its hope, even the ruins to which it clings.

The Look “Striving Spring”
Striving Spring Look was inspired by the famous “Walk of Shame” in this young generation. That kind of embarrassing situation and yet you try to walk straight and hope that it will never happen ever again. I for one disapproves of “One night Stand” because I value integrity.
If I have a chance to speak to all the young girls out there, I will say ” Never allow anyone to disrespect your body”. You only have one greatest treasure and that is the sanctity of enjoying that precious intimacy with the person that loves and respects you despite your imperfection.
I do not agree normalizing premarital sex to the youth because this destroys the basic unit of the society, the family. How many unwanted children are born each day? Love and security come from the parents and what can a child teach to a child? Telling our kids to use condoms and pills won’t do the trick.
It is the responsibility of the grown ups to instill the sanctity of marriage and the importance of commitment in a wedding vow to be able to continue humanity.
We need LOVE in everything we do because God is love.
No child should suffer just because he or she is a prize of premarital sex and irresponsibility of the biological parents.
Nowadays, no matter how intelligent a woman is, sometimes, the wrong idea of Love makes her vulnerable and gullible. It may be because more and more children are thirsty and hungry for affection.
So, to all the parents, do not ever believe that the care and nurturing to your kids are replaceable. No one can ever understand your kids better than you. Let the mother take charge in taking care of the children while the father works hard to provide for the family. Only when we get back to the basics will we have a better generation.
The Outfit “Striving Spring”
The outfit for Striving Spring was inspired by the collage I made for this season. Fortunately, I already own a dress so similar to the picture in the concept illustration and it seemed to be the most perfect choice for the photoshoot.
The Photographers “Striving Spring”
I would never ever forget these two gentlemen with enormous talent and potential in Photography. Apart from their sense of volunteerism, they gave their best in every opportunity given to them. The first time we all worked together was during the First Empowered Women’s Gala in 2018, then the 4 Seasons of Emotions in 2019, we had the third collaboration for Mother and Child.
Gerald Desamparado and Melvin Narvasa deserve all the recognition in terms of photography and photo editing. They both have the talent to bring life to a picture and they know exactly what they’re doing.
I am always in admiration to these two and I do hope that by writing and sharing this collaboration we had, Gerald and Melvin will push through their passion in Photography and hopefully be well known to many.
To Gerald and Melvin, this article is for you. I hope you will continue your passion in creative Photography.
