When I went to Gulangyu Island, in Xiamen City, Fujian Province of China last 2019, I saw serenity in nature. It was indeed a breathtaking sight. I never really understood what the word “serenity” means until I saw that majestic sight in Gulangyu. It was Love, just so full of love.

The Concept: 4 Seasons of Emotions “Serene Summer”
“Serene Summer” Endurance
In this Serene Summer season, I wanted to show a peaceful mind, heart and soul by not escaping the pain instead enduring it until the hurt has turned into acceptance and lesson.
“Serene Summer” Acceptance
After accepting the unpleasant situation and the unbearable sorrow, the loneliness has transformed into a light of happiness and security knowing that the endurance of pain is an eternal gain. I have been through a lot of heartbreaks too and I felt torn several times but may patronus charm is my acceptance of the things that had been done and I need to find a way to make things better for me and for the people around me.

Empowered woman doesn’t mean to be superior to anyone in fact for me it’s the woman that had been though a lot and yet continue to live a life to the fullest. This Serene Summer concept is just so peaceful and quiet that it is almost like living in a day dream.
One of the most difficult thing I believe in Photography is to show beauty without the windows of the soul. With the model’s eyes closed, it is a higher challenge for the photographers to show serenity. The eyes should be completely relaxed in the snap or else it forfeits the concept in totality.

Gen, and that’s me, the creative director and model of this collaboration, is grateful to work with amazing people. I for one love taking pictures with my eyes closed. It isn’t because I dislike my eyes, it’s just closing my eyes will make the shot faster because there wouldn’t be issues on one eye closed or open nor eyes weren’t looking at the camera and many more.
Aside from picture perfect issues, I love closing my eyes because it’s so liberating to take a picture and not worry on the outcome. Just a personal mindset of enjoying how it feels to be in a place that’s so wonderful and internalizing the experience and depicting the emotion with all honesty.

I became an official talent and model of V&L International since 2007. Apart from my talent agency, I am also the founder of my very own online media Hello PhilTai Tv on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Tiktok. I recently launched my own podcast series on all podcast platforms with the show entitled Wow Taiwan and the biggest thing that had happened to my media career was publishing my articles on my very own website December last year.
It was like a whirlwind of success and blessings for me and my advocacy. Promoting the positive image of the Filipinos in Taiwan is also my way of boosting the reputation of my race which used to be filled with too many stereotypes.
From introducing the Filipino Teachers through my example, since I am a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education with Social Science as my area of specification, I have always been a proud representative of Licensed Filipino Teachers here in Taiwan.

I also give emphasis to tourism and when I came here in Taiwan, they didn’t know about Cebu but now, locals are loving my province and they wanted to visit the place post Covid.
On top of all my media engagements, the most important thing that I spend my time with is helping my fellowmen in my homeland in silence. Since 2015, due to the increase of my followers because of my stand pertaining to the current issues in my motherland, I decided to continue my charitable activities quietly.

Everytime I am asked of what I do, I cannot answer quite accurately mainly because my life and career has evolved in fifteen years. But for now, allow me to be the model and creative director of this stunning collaboration with our very own Filipino photographers and make up artist.
The Look

As I have mentioned from the introduction of this 4 Seasons of Emotions, I did all the planning and creative idea of this collaboration from the small detail to the most obvious one. And the most unique experience for all of us was the bathtub shot.
It was my preference to soak in the bathtub almost similar to the collage I made during the planning while eyes closed. Why the tub?
Well, everytime we take a dip inside the tub, we feel relaxed while being embraced by the warmth of the water and pampered by the floral aroma. No one would feel unloved inside the tub.
I was aware that this would be a huge challenge for the photographers and the make up artist because it entailed a picture perfect with the most unpredictable background, the water. I didn’t know if the bathtub water color would cooperate, my silver cocktail dress nor my make up.
In brief, this was the most anticipated concept that’s why we did it at the final shoot for I knew I would be soaked.
