Fu Gui Cape Light House No.1 in my Taiwan Bucket list!!

Taiwan? Where is Taiwan? Is it even a worthy country to travel? Is Taiwan in China? Are they Chinese?

Well, these are just few of the many questions one would ask about Taiwan. This website offers you so many beautiful places in Taiwan that you wouldn’t miss.

First, Taiwan is at the far eastern part of the world. If you are having difficulty of seeing it, it’s because this island is not that big geographically however, when you visit Taiwan, you would never underestimate its size.

Now, I have been away from my website for quite awhile due to the sudden increase of Covid-19 positive in the country. It had fallen into 60-70 thousand average a day in the last few weeks so it’s quite difficult to focus when everyone is at home and at the same time juggling with chores and errands.

However, it was a spur of the moment yesterday when I decided to start circumnavigating Taiwan! We had planned it out for quite a time but didn’t really have the decision yet on how to do it. Many locals and tourists do this. Some will go camping, others do the bicycle challenge, few did the motorcycle and perhaps the most common is driving around Taiwan.

The first stop for me is Fu Gui Cape Light house. I believe it’s the most perfect spot to start because it’s just a few minutes away from my home. I’m glad I live up north. It’s like a blessing in disguise so I would have the most beautiful standpoint of my Taiwan circumnavigation project.

I believe it is also much easier to go from North to South since Taiwan made each district and city a key location of tourism. It is indeed quite hard to choose where to start. So, in this journey, let’s all travel from the point near my home and then just fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the e-travel.

Take the red line MRT from Taipei Station to Tamsui, then go to the bus terminal at Exit 2, ride bus 862 or 863

For those who want to drive, there are parking areas available so it is indeed pretty convenient to all sorts of travelers.

What to expect at Fu Gui Cape Light House?

Aside from achieving a goal since Fui Gui Cape Light House is the northernmost point in Taiwan, there are nearby attractions here that’s truly instagramable and for sure if you are inclined in photography and videography, the stills taken in this place is something you wouldn’t want to miss.

I think I had the best route plan when I visited Fu Gui Cape Light House so I want to recommend my route to the readers. Also, be sure to take down notes because it would be very important to be aware of the things you must remember when you travel this place.

1. Fu Gui Cape Park

This is the best spot for travelers who plan to drive a car since there are parking spaces available.

Reminder: Before reaching this spot, be sure to buy the authentic rice dumpling in Taiwan! It is the most famous rice dumpling store and in fact, locals travel north just to buy rice dumpling every Dragon Boat Festival. The store is at the right side of the lane going to Fu Gui Cape Light House so it’s just along the route of the destination. Plus, there are no stores available in Fu Gui Cape. It is best to bring food and water for the hike. There are no trash cans too so be sure to bring a plastic for the litter.

2. Fu Gui Cape Park Toilet

It might sound weird why you must stop or walk to the toilet but with the long travel, I bet you would want to come here too. Aside from the nature call, you would not believe it when I tell you guys that this toilet is part of the landmarks for fu Gui Cape. It has a beautiful landscape and the trees, it is the forest that will surely make you stay for photos and videos.

3. Lao Mei Maze!!!

A maze in the Fu Gui Cape park? This is ridiculous right? But I tell you, I had fun striding the maze! Locals fly their drones here to get a good look of the maze. It is fun for kids and adults. You can actually pass by this maze if you go to Fu Gui Cape Park toilet.

4. Fu Gui Cape Observation Deck

This is one of the best part of the Fu Gui Cape park. It is an elevated part for a good sight of all the landmarks. BTW, you can take a bite of your snack here, the rice dumpling perhaps, and just be sure not to litter.

5. Fu Gui Cape Light House Hike Trail

The hike is about 1km so it is tolerable for kids and elderlies. The pathway is wide enough for everyone and the view that you will see along the way is something that makes the walk fun and momentous.

Reminder: There are labels along the way so be sure to take a picture and see if you can find the view shown on the image. It is not just a fun hike, it also encourages you to be analytical. Ha!
