Before I bring you to the beautiful places in Hsinchu, you must first know where is Hsinchu.

Hsinchu

Hsinchu is located at the northwestern part of Taiwan. It is known to be a populous place in Taiwan and also called the Windy City especially in autumn and winter season. Hsinchu has Industrial Park where semiconductors are manufactured and computer technology are developed.

I have been to Hsinchu several times because it can also be a quick getaway from the hectic life in Taipei City and I admire how progressive this district is. Apart from stores and businesses that can be found in all corners, you can also see foreign workers like Filipinos anywhere.

Hsinchu is also the favorite place of the Filipino Migrants for events such as pageant, live band show, motor show and the like. This place truly has diverse culture from 1711 by the Han Dynasty, to the Japanese Era around 1895 and up to the present by Taiwan government.

1. Lavender Cottage Hsinchu

Tickets

You must purchase a ticket to enter Lavender Cottage. Tickets are NTD150 per person, which comes with a complimentary “forest coin”. The “forest coin” may be applied for a one-time NTD100 discount in in-park purchases, weekdays and holidays alike.

2. Neiwan Old Street

Neiwan Old Street is lined with traditional wooden architectures and stores. Stroll along this street visitors will be embraced with reminiscent atmosphere, as well as a gourmet feast, including ginger lily-flavored glutinous rice, Hakka tea, Hakka rice cakes(muachi), etc. On the old street, there is Neiwan Theater; around this area there are Neiwan train station and suspension bridges. Neiwan Branch Line also helped
bring vitality to this small town, but its operation(Hsinchu –Jhudong) is now suspended and will reopen in three and a half years.

Hengshan Township is rich in agriculture resources, timbers and minerals. In the past, Neiwan Old Street was the main passageway to the forests, and therefore was crowded with residents coming and going for a living. The street was once on the downgrade but was again very popular with tourists in recent years. Visitors can indulge in the nostalgic ambience when coming to Neiwan Old Street during their Hsinchu travel in Taiwan.

3. Green World

Green World is a a large-scale ecological farm combining the natural ecology of animals and plants with leisure, education and recreation. I surely enjoyed my first trip to this amazing Green World! I thought Taipei Zoo is the best until I saw this place and I think it’s very much competitive in terms of animal diversity and experience.

4. Hukou Old Street

5. Zhudong Night Market Hsinchu

Unique location that’s what I can say. Zhudong Night Market is also kid friendly. They have this mini carnival for very young kids to enjoy. The food is great too!
