Why visit Butuan?

Butuan is the commercial, industrial, and administrative center of Caraga region. It is a strategic trading hub in Northern Mindanao with major roads connecting it to other main cities in the island such as Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Malaybalay, Surigao, and soon, Tandag. It hosts one of the busiest airports in the country, the Bancasi Airport, serving around 525,000 passengers in 2012. Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines serve the airport. Meanwhile, the nearby Nasipit International Port and in-city Masao Port are providing for its shipping and cargo needs. (More information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butuan)

Butuan has history beyond our imagination so it is just right to visit this place and learn how it was during the pre-Spanish era. Isn’t it exciting to learn a new culture?

3. Marine Beach Resort Cebu

Photo taken in Marine Beach Resort in 2007

This place was one of the tourist attractions in Toledo City Cebu. Although the location wasn’t exactly in Toledo, but people will use it as the point of reference for any resorts nearby the city. Seeing an ostrich on the resort and other animals was a new experience since there is no zoo in Toledo. However, the experience happened 16 years ago and I am just hoping that this place still exist. I just can’t help but share that once I had been to a beach house with an ostrich in Cebu.

People might ask why Lutopan of all the places in Cebu? Well the answer is quite simple. It’s an interesting place to explore the mines, the caves, nature and the people. Lutopan is one of the most popular villages in Toledo City not only because it is the source of income by many residents, but it is also a highly commercialized area despite being a small barangay of Toledo City. In recent years, the breathtaking church in Lutopan also catches attention as well as the mine tour at Carmen Copper Corporation.

The ritual includes washing hands, going inside the chapel barefoot and dropping two blocks of wood. If the wood blocks are both face up then one could make a wish.If not then it is not yet the time for one’s wish to be granted and one has to come to the temple some other time.
