Wow Taiwan 1 of the hottest travel podcasts?

In just a few weeks after publishing Wow Taiwan on the first quarter this year, it has already been included in the top 100 podcasts for Travel Taiwan. This acknowledgement was awarded by Apple Podcast admin sent through an email directly addressed to Gen, the owner of Everyday with Gen website (www.everydaywithgen.com) and the host of Wow Taiwan. 

Why listen?

It’s quite a breakthrough for a neophyte podcast to be included in the top 100 Travel podcasts in Taiwan for the mere fact that there are thousands of niche travel not only in Taiwan but also all over the world and I would say in quite an innumerable podcast platforms such as Spotify, Google Podcasts, Anchor, Amazon Alexa and so much more. 

Despite the fact that there are an ample of niche travel in many podcast programs, I produced Wow Taiwan not because I just want to talk about travel alone. It is an ode to my second home, Taiwan, as the nurturing foundation of my whole new being as a Filipino and a Taiwanese. The culture education approach on my social media platforms for me is an essential contrivance to bridge the gap or at least minimize or rid stereotypes.

Being a part of the evaluation committee for the 2020 National competition “Show your Taiwan Live”, made me more driven to realize my plan for the Wow Taiwan program because when I launched Wow Pinoy, a program introducing Philippines to Taiwan last 2018, I pre-announced the making of it’s counterpart, Wow Taiwan that would be highlighting Formosa as a wonderland. However professional video editing for Hellophiltai Youtube Channel is quite challenging and obviously time consuming, I decided to create Wow Taiwan as a podcast instead. Thus, the beginning of Wow Taiwan global journey.

How we started?

Wow Taiwan’s birth is very emblematic. It was born from the inspiration of Wow Pinoy program on Hellophitai Youtube Channel and the success of last year’s “Show your Taiwan” national event for global students with Chinese biological roots or in Mandarin we call it “Hua Qiao”. The students’ videos made a far-reaching impact on Gen, Hellophiltai founder and host, it solidified her long plan of having a Wow Taiwan program as a sister show for Wow Pinoy. Indeed! Wow Taiwan’s beginnings was rather simple however the feedback was absolutely too extensive to imagine. With 29 countries listening to Wow Taiwan Podcast from March up to now, that’s what we could describe as legit international!
