Marriage in Taiwan You can:
1. Go to the nearest household office for mutual decision.
2. Go to police station to file a case as a ground for divorce. Why police station? In case of any life threatening situation, the policemen would know who to investigate.

Marriage in Taiwan – It costs your life. Love a Filipina truly and respect Filipino culture. We have never encountered a Filipina wife with a price tag.

Marriage in Taiwan- You can:
1. Go to the Philippines first and get to know the culture.
2. Find some friends in a natural way if you wish to have a lasting relationship then know the way of life of the Filipinos
3. There are 7, 600 plus islands and islets in the Philippines, this gives you more reason so come back as often as you can and most probably meet a nice Filipina that would accept and like you. 4. Educate each other with your unique culture and see if your core values are the same.
5. In this pandemic time, it would be hard to fly to the Philippines so most Filipinas in Taiwan go to Churches islandwide. You can start from there.

Originally, the marriage between a Filipino and Taiwanese was extremely strict due to the difference in marital laws. Taiwan allows divorce while Philippines don’t.

So, initially, inorder for you to marry a Filipino here are the important points to know:

Traditional and the best way
1. You and your partner should apply for the marriage on your own effort.
2. You follow the requirements for the wedding in the Philippines.
3. Ask your Filipino partner to go to the nearest city hall for the updated requirements.
4. Comply the requirements.
5. Normally, the foreign partner or Taiwanese must at least stay in the Philippines for 30 days to be able to pass the length of stay requirement before marriage.
6. If you want a quick wedding, you can arrange a Civil wedding in the City Hall because a church wedding is much longer and much more expensive. Except in some cases, the church allows additional fee to skip the seminars and all other church requirements.
7. After the civil wedding, you can plan for all the kinds of wedding vows you wish but don’t forget to check if your wedding date and marriage was properly documented.
8. Right after the wedding, you would have to contact TECO in Manila for your registration of marriage. TECO is Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office. It’s the only office that could function as a government extension of Taiwan.
9. Ask for the requirements for VISA for the Filipino Spouse if you wish to stay in Taiwan.
10. Comply the requirements and you would be asked for an interview. This is why I recommend this traditional way because how the marriage was arranged would affect much on the decision of the Visa.
Many of those who went through these traditional steps received a residential ARC or Alien Resident Certificate while the rest considered as fake marriage would get the worse scenario of 1 to 3 months Tourist Visa or denied.

Agent Wedding:
1. Look for an agent and be sure a credible one not on the blacklisted wedding agents in TECO.
2. How to find a wedding agent? You can ask TECO or MECO’s recommendation or those who had a wedding agent.
3. You pay the agent and they process everything.
4. You have a wedding civil or church but with a higher price.
5. TECO Visa application would be the problem. The worst scenario is, VISA denied.

P.S. Not all with agents have the worst case scenario but it is best to process your own marriage to avoid mistakes on the wedding date and other false information.
